Professional Experience

25 years of experience in the financial services industry began upon graduation from The Ohio State University. Kent has earned the designations of Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC), Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU), and Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy (CAP). Kent has held the following security licenses: 6, 7, 8, 24 and 63.

Mr. Irwin’s extensive career includes being a trusted financial advisor for twelve years in private practice, helping families and small businesses create and protect wealth, and Vice President in the trust, investment and marketing departments of a leading financial institution in the Midwest. Also, he planned burgeoning market potential as an Advanced Markets Consultant with Nationwide Financial®. Kent served on a team of attorneys, accountants and financial planning experts to support advanced estate and business planning needs for more than 60,000 independent financial services professionals. While at Nationwide, Kent also participated in software, marketing and product development.

Prior to founding eFinplan in 2007, Kent was a Vice President and senior financial planner for the second largest fee-only financial planning firm in Columbus Ohio.

Kent is a member of the Society of Financial Services Professionals, serving on the board for the Columbus Ohio Chapter. He's also had a presence as a member of the Financial Planning Association of Central Ohio, National Planned Giving Council, Central Ohio Planned Giving Council and National Association of Advisors in Philanthropy.

He is also an Adjunct Professor at Hondros College (Columbus, OH) where he teaches Insurance, Securities and various continuing education courses.

A published author, Kent has written articles for Advisor Today, The National Underwriter, Business First of Columbus, and Accounting Today.

Community Involvement

Kent helped found a financial-clinic for a Community Center that provides counseling to people in Columbus Ohio. He serves as a leader in Stewardship Financial Ministry in a large non-denomination church, providing financial counseling and teaching.
